Uranius Patera is about the size of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) in height. It has shallow slopes and lava flows. This indicates an effusive origin. The center caldera was formed when lava drained away and the volcano collapsed. This image is Copyright © by Calvin J. Hamilton.
