This excellent animation of Deimos was created by using a combination of a USGS map and a map produced by Phil Stooke of Deimos, a satellite of Mars. The initial frame of this animation is centered at 90 degrees longitude. North is at the top. The camera is looking at Deimos from the equatorial plane. In the first few frames, Mars would be located at the Right. This animation is copyright 2000 by Calvin J. Hamilton. |
